Flynas to resume limited flights to Dubai from Friday amid US war on Iran tensions

RIYADH: Saudi low-cost airline Flynas announced an update to its flight schedule, stating that it will resume limited services to Dubai starting Friday, following disruptions caused by escalating regional tensions.

According to the airline, the revised schedule aims to provide assistance to passengers after several delays and cancellations triggered by the ongoing US–Iran tensions that have affected aviation operations across the region since the start of the week.

A report by Reuters said the airline will temporarily operate a limited number of flights, particularly on routes connecting Saudi Arabia and Dubai.

Flynas said the schedule adjustment will take effect from Friday, with specific flights gradually resuming while the situation in regional airspace continues to be monitored.

In recent days, airlines worldwide have faced significant operational challenges due to airspace closures, airport shutdowns, flight cancellations, and rerouted routes linked to regional security concerns.

The disruptions have not only affected travellers but have also impacted cargo transport, trade routes, and international sporting events, including travel related to the ongoing global cricket tournament.

Passengers have been advised to check their flight status regularly through official airline channels before travelling.

Meanwhile, a suspected Iranian‑made drone struck the British Royal Air Force’s Royal Air Force base at Akrotiri in Cyprus in the early hours of Sunday, causing limited damage to infrastructure and thrusting the Eastern Mediterranean island deeper into the expanding Middle East conflict.

The unmanned aerial vehicle, identified as a Shahed‑type attack drone, hit the side of a hangar at the RAF base shortly after midnight local time, officials and media reports said.
