Fog, cold weather to prevail across country on Monday

WEB DESK: Cold and dry weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country on Monday, while hilly areas are likely to experience extremely cold conditions. According to the weather forecast by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan may see partly cloudy conditions with light rain and light snowfall at a few places.
Moderate to heavy fog is likely to affect the plains of Punjab, upper Sindh and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning and night hours, which may disrupt road traffic.
Going region by region, in the federal capital Islamabad and its surrounding areas, the weather is expected to remain cold and partly cloudy.
Most districts of Punjab will experience cold and dry weather. However, partly cloudy conditions are likely in the Potohar region during the evening and night. Murree, Galyat and nearby areas are expected to remain extremely cold with partly cloudy skies. Moderate to severe fog is forecast in several districts, including Sialkot, Narowal, Jhelum, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Cold and dry weather is likely to continue in most districts of Sindh. Fog is expected in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Tando Jam, Mohenjodaro and Jacobabad during morning and night hours.
Most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) are likely to experience cold and dry weather. However, partly cloudy conditions with light rain or light snowfall are expected in Chitral, Swat, Dir, Kohistan and surrounding areas. Light to moderate fog may develop in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan and nearby areas during morning and night.
Cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Balochistan, while northern districts are likely to experience very cold and partly cloudy conditions.
Very cold and partly cloudy weather is expected in Kashmir. Gilgit-Baltistan is also likely to remain very cold, with light rain and light snowfall at a few places.
