Former COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa injured: Is he serious?

ISLAMABAD: Former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General (Retired) Qamar Javed Bajwa was injured after falling at his residence early Tuesday morning and has been admitted to a hospital in Rawalpindi, according to family sources.

Reports indicate that General (R) Bajwa slipped and fell in the washroom of his home at approximately 4:30 am. As a result of the fall, he sustained injuries to multiple parts of his body, including a head injury. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Sources confirmed that the former army chief is currently under observation in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), where doctors are closely monitoring his condition. Hospital authorities have not yet released an official medical statement regarding his health status.

General (R) Qamar Javed Bajwa served as Pakistan’s Army Chief from 2016 to November 2022. He was appointed by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, and his tenure was later extended for three years during the government of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Further updates on his health condition are expected as medical evaluations continue.
