Former cricketers furious over Imad Wasim’s exclusion from T20 match

ISLAMABAD: Former cricketers are furious over Imad Wasim being benched for the first T20 match against New Zealand.

In the first T20 International match against New Zealand, the decision to bench all-rounder Imad Wasim has drawn severe criticism from former cricketers towards captain Babar Azam.

The first T20 match scheduled in Rawalpindi was washed out due to rain, where only two balls could be played. However, the inclusion of Shadab Khan in the playing eleven instead of Imad Wasim led to former cricketers lashing out at the team management and captain.

Former cricketer Iqbal Qasim commented that Imad should have been selected over Shadab Khan, especially after the noise made to bring Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim back into the team, they should be given a chance to regain their form.

Similarly, former cricketer and chief selector Mohsin Khan criticized, saying that Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir should be provided with as many opportunities as possible before the mega-events.
