In June, a woman was gang-raped in front of her husband in Hafizabad Punjab.

According to the FIR registered at Kassoki Police Station on June 3, the suspects, after raping the woman, allegedly forced her and her husband at gunpoint to engage in sexual intercourse, filmed the act, and fled.

Police said the incident had occurred over a month earlier, but the victim’s husband only filed the case after the video was uploaded on social media.

In August, a 21-year-old man was allegedly gang-raped and robbed in Haripur after being lured into a fake meeting with a woman he had befriended on Facebook.

Police said the man, a resident of Nagri Bala, had been in contact with a woman named Urooj. She invited him to meet near a deserted area close to the government garden within the jurisdiction of the City Police Station.

However, when he arrived, the man was ambushed by three armed men who allegedly beat him, gang-raped him at knifepoint, filmed the assault, and looted Rs35,000 in cash, a mobile phone, and a gift he had brought for the woman.

After the attack, the suspects reportedly threatened him with dire consequences if he approached the police, warning him to quietly return to his hometown.
