Four terrorists killed in Peshawar CTD intelligence-based operation

PESHAWAR: Four terrorists were killed in an intelligence-based operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) at a graveyard in Mehr Gul Kalay, Mera kchori, Peshawar, officials said.

According to CTD officials, three Kalashnikovs, a pistol, a hand grenade and seven magazines were recovered from the slain terrorists.

One of the terrorists was identified as a resident of Nangarhar, Afghanistan, and an Afghan refugee card was also recovered from him, officials said.

The CTD said a search operation and pursuit were under way to arrest other terrorists who managed to flee the scene.

Officials said a threat alert had already been issued regarding the entry of terrorists from Afghanistan. The alert warned that three suicide bombers had entered Pakistan through the district Khyber route.

According to the CTD, the suicide attackers had entered Pakistan with the intention of carrying out terrorist activities.
