Tensions between the United States and Iran are intensifying once again, as strong rhetoric from US President Donald Trump is met with a firm military response from Iranian leadership, raising fears of further instability in the region.
TRUMP SIGNALS FRESH PRESSURE ON IRAN
US President Donald Trump has indicated that military action against Iran remains a possibility, adding that Tehran has yet to face significant consequences for its actions. In remarks shared on his platform, he said new proposals regarding Iran were under consideration, though he expressed skepticism about their acceptability.
Trump also noted that Washington’s negotiating capacity with Iran remains “unlimited,” while describing the situation around the Strait of Hormuz in unexpectedly positive terms. He added that more than 5,000 US troops are being withdrawn from Germany as part of broader strategic adjustments.
IRAN ASSERTS MILITARY READINESS
Responding to rising tensions, Iranian Army Chief Amir Hatami said the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to confront any threat. He stressed that, under the direction of Iran’s Supreme Leader, the military remains in a state of high readiness.
Hatami said that Iran’s army is more capable and better organised than ever before, and will firmly resist any form of aggression or conspiracy. He underscored the military’s commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty, border security, and overall stability.
He also noted that lessons from past conflicts, particularly the prolonged Iran-Iraq war, have reinforced the importance of maintaining strong defense capabilities, adding that efforts to further enhance military preparedness are ongoing.
