Funeral prayers held for 10 police personnel martyred in Hangu terrorist attack

WEB DESK: Funeral prayers were offered on Thursday for 10 police personnel, including DSP City Diyar Khan, who were martyred in a terrorist attack on the Khazina Banda police checkpost in Hangu. The personnel were martyred and 22 others injured on Wednesday night when terrorists attacked the police checkpost in Hangu.

The funeral was attended by civil administration officials, police officers and citizens. Floral sheets were placed over the bodies of the martyrs as mourners paid tribute to their sacrifice. Following the prayers, the bodies were sent to their native towns for burial.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed said police retaliation had killed between 12 and 15 terrorists in the exchange.

According to the Hangu District Police Officer (DPO), terrorists attacked the Khazina Banda checkpost, martyring 10 personnel, including DSP City Diyar Khan.

DPO Hangu Tariq Habib said the operation against terrorists in the area would continue.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the attack and paid tribute to the martyred personnel.
