WEB DESK: Six Pakistanis were killed in a gas cylinder explosion in Saudi Arabia’s capital, Riyadh, according to media reports.

The incident took place last night in the Manfouha area, where a gas cylinder exploded in a residential building, causing damage to part of the structure. All six deceased were reportedly from Mansehra district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistani embassy said it was in contact with Saudi authorities regarding the repatriation of the bodies and other legal formalities.

It said all possible diplomatic assistance would be provided to the affected families. According to initial reports, the relevant Saudi authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion.

The incident has caused grief among the Pakistani community in Saudi Arabia, while condolences continue to be offered to the bereaved families.
