Gas theft drive: Action taken against 267 illegal connections

PESHAWAR: The Sui Northern Gas Task Force has taken action against unauthorized gas connections, disconnecting a total of 267 illegal connections.

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has announced launch of crackdown against gas theft.

In addition, 144 suspicious domestic meters were removed during the operation.

Furthermore, 22 gas meters were disconnected without proper records.

Two cases related to these violations have been registered with the respective police stations, as confirmed by a spokesperson for Sui Northern Gas.

IMF allows relief on power bills

In a press conference held at SNGPL Head Office in Lahore, MD SNGPL Amer Tufail had said that the company has always dealt strictly with gas theft cases but the drive has been sped up on the special directives of Federal Government.

MD SNGPL assured that the company has implemented zero tolerance policy against gas theft and informed that the company has taken strict action against 361 employees in this regard through termination from service, demotion, stoppage of salary increments among others.
