GB ministers urge timely implementation of social welfare schemes

GILGIT: Gilgit-Baltistan minister on Tuesday directed officials to ensure transparency, timely completion and measurable impact in ongoing and planned social welfare and youth development projects across the region.
The ministers stressed the importance of a coordinated strategy to protect the rights of women, children and youth while promoting their social and economic uplift.
The briefing, organised by the Department of Social Welfare, Women Development, Human Rights and Child Protection, and Youth Affairs, was attended by Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Syed Adil Shah and Chief Minister’s Adviser on Social Welfare, Population and Women Development, Syeda Fatima.
Officials presented a detailed overview of the department’s structure, responsibilities and ongoing initiatives, covering projects for women’s empowerment, population management, child and human rights protection, and youth development across Gilgit-Baltistan.
The ministers reviewed progress on the development schemes, discussed ways to enhance their reach and effectiveness, and praised the department’s performance.
They highlighted that public welfare projects must meet high standards of accountability and efficiency.
Departmental officials assured the ministers that all initiatives would adhere to Gilgit-Baltistan government policy guidelines and that efforts would continue to strengthen public service delivery and achieve social development goals across the region.
