China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed deep concern over the strikes, calling for an immediate ceasefire and urging all parties to avoid escalation and resume dialogue. The Chinese embassy in Israel also advised its citizens to move to safer areas or travel to Egypt via the Taba border crossing. China reiterated that Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity must be respected.
The escalating conflict is affecting regional travel. Hong Kong-based airline operator Cathay Group suspended its Middle East operations, including passenger flights to Dubai and Riyadh and cargo services through Al Maktoum International Airport, citing safety concerns. The airline plans to re-route flights that normally pass over the affected areas.
Cuba has also strongly condemned the US and Israel’s recent attacks on Iran, describing them as a “flagrant violation” of the UN Charter and international law. In a statement, the Cuban embassy in Washington said the strikes undermine ongoing diplomatic efforts on Iran’s nuclear program and once again threaten regional and global peace.
Egyptian officials have also weighed in on the crisis. The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed the urgent need for regional and international cooperation to de-escalate the situation, warning of the “catastrophic consequences” should the conflict expand. He also discussed the developments with his Iraqi counterpart in a phone call, reaffirming that political and diplomatic solutions remain the only viable path to contain the crisis.
