ISLAMABAD: The price of gold in Pakistan jumped on Friday (October 31), recovering from the previous day’s decline as local demand strengthened despite a dip in global rates.

According to data released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold rose by Rs5,300, reaching Rs424,162 per tola. Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs4,544 to Rs363,650.

Meanwhile, 22-karat gold was being sold at Rs333,357 per 10 grams in the local market.

With today’s increase, the price of gold in Pakistan has risen by Rs17,384 per tola during October, up from Rs406,778 at the start of the month.

Silver follows upward trend

Silver prices also moved higher, with 24-karat silver rising by Rs158 to Rs5,192 per tola and by Rs136 to Rs4,451 per 10 grams.

Global market movement

In the international market, spot gold was trading near $4,026 an ounce, down $10.2 or 0.25 percent from the previous session. The slight decline came as the US dollar strengthened amid uncertainty over whether the Federal Reserve would introduce more interest rate cuts.
