Gold prices decline in Pakistan, silver posts gains


KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan declined on Saturday in line with a modest dip in global bullion markets, while silver recorded gains, data from the local bullion market showed.

In the international market, gold fell by $7 per ounce, bringing prices down to $4,746 per ounce, reflecting a mild correction in global trading.

Following global cues, domestic gold prices also declined. The price of 24-karat gold in Pakistan dropped by Rs700 per tola to Rs496,962, according to local market figures.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold fell by Rs600 to Rs426,064.

In contrast, silver prices moved upward in the local market. The price of silver rose by Rs50 per tola to Rs8,064, while 10 grams increased by Rs43 to Rs6,913.

Market participants said the mixed trend reflected volatility in global bullion markets, with gold easing after recent fluctuations while silver continued to attract demand.
