KARACHI: Gold prices fell sharply in Pakistan on Thursday, tracking a steep decline in international markets, traders said.
In local bullion markets, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs24,300 to Rs499,462, while the price for 10 grams fell by Rs20,833 to Rs428,208.
The decline followed a sudden سقوط in global prices, where gold fell by $243 per ounce to $4,767 in the international bullion market.
Silver prices also decreased in the domestic market, with per tola rates falling by Rs760 to Rs7,734, while the price for 10 grams declined by Rs652 to Rs6,630.
Bullion dealers said the sharp drop reflects volatility in global markets, which continues to drive price movements locally.
