Gold prices hit fresh highs in Pakistan as global prices rise

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan rose sharply on Tuesday, extending gains from the previous session as increases in the international market continued to drive local rates higher, dealers said.

In the local bullion market, gold per tola climbed by Rs2,800 to Rs478,762, compared with Rs475,962 a day earlier.

Similarly, the price for 10 grams rose by Rs2,401 to Rs410,461, up from Rs408,060 in the previous session.

The surge tracked global trends, where gold prices increased by $28 per ounce to reach $4,560.

Silver prices also posted gains. In the international market, silver rose to $73 per ounce.

In Pakistan, silver per tola increased by Rs260 to Rs7,784, compared with Rs7,524 a day earlier, while the rate for 10 grams rose by Rs223 to Rs6,673 from Rs6,450.

Dealers said the continued upward movement reflects volatility in global markets, with local prices closely mirroring international bullion trends.
