Gold prices jump in Pakistan after brief pause

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged on Saturday, posting a sharp increase after a one-day pause, in line with a strong rally in the international bullion market.

In the local market, the price of 24-carat gold rose by Rs11,700 per tola to Rs519,462, while the price per 10 grams climbed Rs10,030 to Rs445,354, according to local bullion dealers.

The increase followed gains in the global market, where gold advanced by $117 per ounce to reach $4,967 per ounce.

Silver prices also moved higher in Pakistan, with per tola rates rising by 444 rupees to Rs8,269. The price of 10 grams of silver increased by Rs381 to Rs7,089.

Gold prices have remained volatile in recent sessions, with domestic rates largely tracking fluctuations in the international market and currency movements.
