Gold prices jump in Pakistan in line with global surge

KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan surged sharply on Monday, tracking gains in the international market, with rates rising significantly at the start of the trading week, traders said.
In local bullion markets, the price of gold per tola jumped by Rs3,900 to reach Rs475,962.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs3,343, settling at Rs408,060.
The rise followed an increase in global prices, where gold gained $39 per ounce to reach $4,532 in the international bullion market.
Silver prices also moved higher both globally and domestically. In international markets, silver rose to $70.40 per ounce.
In Pakistan, silver per tola increased by Rs70 to Rs7,524, while the rate for 10 grams climbed by Rs60 to Rs6,450.
Bullion dealers said local prices continued to mirror international trends, with currency fluctuations and global demand influencing the domestic market.
