Gold prices jump in Pakistan tracking global bullion gains

KARACHI: Gold prices on Thursday in Pakistan rose, tracking international bullion gains, while silver prices retreated in the domestic market, local bullion trade associations said.
The price of 24-karat gold in the domestic market increased by Rs1,523 per tola — a traditional unit of weight equivalent to 11.66 grams—to settle at Rs469,285.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs1,305 to reach Rs402,335.
In the international market, spot gold grew by $14 per ounce on Thursday, pushing the global benchmark price up to $4,468 per ounce.
Bucking the upward trend in gold, domestic silver prices fell across the country.
The price of silver dropped by Rs97 per tola to Rs7,797, while the price of 10 grams of silver decreased by Rs83 to close at Rs6,684.
