KARACHI: Gold prices rose in Pakistan on Monday, tracking gains in the global bullion market, while silver prices declined, traders said.
In the international bullion market, gold rose by $11 to $4,687 per ounce, local traders said.
Following the global trend, the price of gold in Pakistan increased by Rs1,100 per tola to Rs491,462. The price of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs943 to Rs421,349.
In contrast, silver prices declined. The price of silver per tola fell by Rs50 to Rs7,744, while the price of 10 grams dropped by Rs43 to Rs6,639, traders said.
Analysts say local precious metals prices typically follow international market movements, currency fluctuations and demand trends.
They say bullion price trends are influenced by factors including shifts in global demand, currency exchange rates and regional tensions that can spur safe-haven buying.
