ISLAMABAD: Federal ministers have assured leaders of the government’s allied parties that petrol prices will be reduced as soon as the situation caused by the Iran war returns to normal.
A key meeting of allied parties was held at Parliament House today, attended by leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-N, Pakistan Peoples Party, MQM, and other coalition partners. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, Ahsan Iqbal, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and Tariq Fazal Chaudhry were also present.
During the meeting, Finance Ministry and Petroleum Division officials provided a detailed briefing on the current economic and energy situation. The briefing highlighted global oil prices, domestic energy reserves, and steps taken to stabilise the economy.
After the meeting, Tariq Fazal Chaudhry told the media that the allied party leaders expressed full confidence in the federal government’s policies. Measures related to petrol pricing were also discussed to minimise the impact of inflation on the public.
Officials said that once global and regional conditions normalise, petrol prices will be promptly reduced to provide relief to the citizens.
