Government jacks up passport fees

ISLAMABAD: The government has increased the fees for passport fast-track categories. The fee for a 100-page passport has been set at Rs32,000.
For a 36-page machine-readable passport with a validity of five years, the fast-track fee has been set at Rs12,500, while for a 10-year validity, the fee has been set at Rs16,200.
Similarly, for a 72-page passport with a validity of five years, the fee has now been set at Rs18,500, and for a 10-year validity, it has been set at Rs25,200.
Additionally, the fast-track category fee for a 100-page passport with a validity of 10 years has been set at Rs32,000.

It’s worth noting that the federal government had previously increased passport fees. The normal fee was raised from Rs3,000 to Rs4,500, while the urgent fee was increased from Rs5,000 to Rs7,500. The fee for a 10-year normal passport was increased from Rs4,500 to Rs6,700.
Moreover, the fee for a 10-year urgent passport was raised from Rs7,500 to Rs11,200. These fee for e-passports remained unchanged.
