Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said the government is taking consistent measures to bring down inflation and stabilise the economy on a sustainable basis.

Speaking to the media, the finance minister said the government was focusing on improving tax enforcement and curbing tax evasion instead of simply increasing taxes. He said efforts were being made to place the minimum possible financial burden on the public while strengthening the economy.

Aurangzeb said the government’s measures to reduce inflation were producing positive results. He added that economic stability required collective effort and urged political parties to work for the country’s development instead of engaging in criticism for the sake of criticism.

The finance minister also said students were being sent to China and Australia to promote agricultural research and benefit from modern agricultural technology and innovation. He said such initiatives would help improve productivity and support long-term growth in the agriculture sector.

Aurangzeb also praised Pakistan’s diplomatic achievements at the international level, saying the country was playing an active role in reducing regional tensions and promoting peace.

He stressed that political forces should prioritise economic stability and national progress, adding that cooperation was essential to ensure sustainable growth and relief for the people.
