GTA 6 frenzy intensifies as Rockstar unveils pre-order date as June 25

Following the year memes of any event happening before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), he countdown to one of the biggest video game launches in history has (finally?) entered a new phase, with Rockstar Games finally revealing when players can pre-order GTA 6, and unveiling the title’s official cover art.

Rockstar announced that pre-orders for the highly anticipated game will open on June 25, allowing fans to secure copies through digital platforms, including the PlayStation Store, as well as selected retail outlets. The game is currently scheduled for release on November 19 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

The announcement has reignited excitement among gamers worldwide, many of whom have been waiting more than a decade for the next instalment in the blockbuster franchise. The previous title, Grand Theft Auto V, launched in 2013 and went on to become one of the highest-selling video games ever made.

Alongside the pre-order reveal, Rockstar released the official cover artwork in a short promotional video. The artwork places protagonists Lucia and Jason front and centre, giving fans a fresh look at the pair who will lead the story in the upcoming game.

The vibrant artwork also showcases elements of the game’s setting, the fictional state of Leonida, which is heavily inspired by Florida. Flamingos, alligators, sports cars, motorcycles and helicopters feature prominently, reflecting the series’ trademark mix of crime, chaos and open-world adventure. The artwork retains the franchise’s instantly recognisable pop-art aesthetic, combining bright colours with cinematic imagery.

One major detail remains under wraps: the price. Rockstar did not announce how much GTA 6 will cost, fuelling continued speculation among fans and industry analysts. Some observers have suggested the title could set a new benchmark for premium game pricing, although no official confirmation has been provided.

Despite the latest reveal, fans are still hoping Rockstar will release another gameplay trailer before launch. The two trailers published so far have generated enormous interest online, attracting hundreds of millions of views and cementing GTA 6’s status as one of the most eagerly awaited entertainment releases of the decade.
