Pakistani batter Gull Feroza fined for breaching ICC Code of Conduct during Hong Kong fixture

Pakistan women’s team batter Gull Feroza has been fined 10 per cent of her match fee and handed one demerit point for breaching the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Code of Conduct during the Women’s Asia Cup match against Hong Kong.

According to the ICC, Gull was found guilty of breaching the Code of Conduct after she was given out during the match.

The charge was brought by on-field umpires Rabab Ahsan and Rokeya Sultana, along with third umpire Shivani Mishra and fourth umpire Shathira Jakir.

Following the umpire’s decision, the Pakistan batter gestured that the ball had made contact with her bat, which was deemed a violation of the code governing players and support staff.

As a result, Gull was fined 10 per cent of her match fee and received one demerit point, which has been added to her disciplinary record.

The ICC said the action was taken over Gull’s reaction to the umpire’s decision and classified it as a breach of the Code of Conduct. It marks her second offence in 24 months, bringing her tally to two demerit points during the period.

Pakistan secured a convincing victory over Hong Kong in the Women’s Asia Cup, but Gull’s disciplinary action also made headlines following the match.
