Gul Plaza fire: China and US missions offer condolences to victims’ families

WEB DESK: The Chinese and United States diplomatic missions in Karachi have expressed deep sorrow over the tragic fire at Gul Plaza, which claimed multiple lives and injured several others.
The death toll from the Gul Plaza tragedy has risen to 23, authorities confirmed while additional human remains have been transferred to Civil Hospital, and, according to the police surgeon, post-mortems have been completed on all 23 bodies so far.
In separate statements, both missions extended condolences to the families of the deceased and prayers for the speedy recovery of those injured. The Chinese Embassy conveyed its heartfelt sympathy to the victims’ families and offered prayers for the health of the injured.
Similarly, the United States Consulate General, through Consul General Charles Goodman, praised the courage and dedication of first responders who worked tirelessly under challenging conditions. He reaffirmed the US commitment to stand in solidarity with Pakistan as the community mourns, recovers, and works together to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
The statements from both missions reflects the international concern and support for Karachi as the city grapples with the aftermath of the devastating fire.
