Gwyneth Paltrow crashes Coldplay-linked Astronomer scandal with a smirk

Gwyneth-Paltrow

In a twist only 2025 could serve up, Gwyneth Paltrow has entered the viral chaos orbiting AI startup Astronomer, and she did it with her signature deadpan charm and a knowing wink. The Oscar-winner and wellness mogul appeared in a surprise cameo as Astronomer’s “temporary spokesperson” in a tongue-in-cheek video released on the company’s LinkedIn Friday night.

With serene poise, Paltrow addressed the very public mess unleashed when her ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, outed former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and HR head Kristin Cabot’s clandestine office romance, dramatically exposed via a kiss cam moment that blew up the internet.

“I’ve been hired on a very temporary basis,” Paltrow says, barely suppressing a smirk, “to speak on behalf of the 300-plus employees at Astronomer.” Paltrow and Martin finalised their divorce in April 2015.

Guess this is what can be best described as corporate crisis PR, meet Oscar-winning satire.

Last week, when the ‘Kiss cam’ at the concert panned at Andy, he was caught, in a moment too cosy for colleagues, with his chief of Human Resources, Kristin Cabot. Coldplay’s Chris Martin said “Oh, look at these two…” when he saw the supposedly cute moment, but did not waste any moment when Andy Byron ducked, saying, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

However, by then it was already too late. Moments into the incident, the clip became a social media frenzy and drama officially entered the chat. Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan, shared the clip on her social media and removed the Byron surname from her profile, further fueling the discourse.
