Haaland featured side cut Arsenal’s lead to two points after Man City vs Brentford victory

LONDON: Manchester City kept their Premier League title hopes alive with a comfortable 3-0 win in Man City vs Brentford, cutting leaders Arsenal’s advantage to just two points.

Despite the victory, star striker Erling Haaland failed to score, although he remains the league’s top scorer with 25 goals this season.

“It feels good to win 3-0,” Haaland said. “We just missed the last shot on goal today. We created a lot of chances but didn’t finish many of them.”

He praised the opposition as well, adding: “Brentford defended well. There are no easy games in the Premier League, so we are happy.”

Pep Guardiola’s side struggled to break Brentford down for almost an hour at the Etihad Stadium, before Jérémy Doku opened the scoring with a stunning strike.

Erling Haaland later added his 26th league goal of the season, while Omar Marmoush sealed the win in stoppage time.

The result keeps City firmly in the title race, with pressure now on Arsenal as the season approaches its decisive stage.
