SYLHET: Pakistan head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed said the playing XI for the second Test against Bangladesh in Sylhet will be decided after the toss.
Speaking on the eve of the match, Sarfaraz admitted the team was disappointed after the defeat in the first Test but insisted the dressing room atmosphere remains positive.
“The environment in the team is good. We have moved on from the past and are focused on a comeback in the second Test,” he said.
He added that the weather is beyond their control, but the side is prepared to play quality cricket regardless of conditions.
“We are hopeful the team will perform well,” the head coach said.
Sarfaraz also lauded Babar Azam’s form, saying the batter had performed strongly in the PSL and looked improved both technically and mentally.
“We are happy with Babar Azam’s return. He looks better technically and mentally,” he said.
Responding to criticism from former cricketers, Sarfaraz said it was nothing new.
“We know that criticism comes when you don’t perform well. We are not paying much attention to social media,” he added.
He stressed that discipline with both bat and ball would be key in Test cricket.
“I hope my captain and the team deliver a strong performance,” Sarfaraz concluded.
