Heatwave: Karachi matric board issues new examination schedule

KARACHI: The Karachi Matric Board has issued an updated examination timetable in response to the heatwave impacting the region.

As per the revised schedule, the ninth and tenth-grade exams will commence on May 28 and conclude on June 7. Postponed from May 21 to May 28 due to the intense heat, examinations in Karachi have been rescheduled accordingly.

Earlier today, The Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK) has announced that the intermediate (inter) exams will now commence on June 1.

According to the Chairman of the Inter Board Nasim Ahmed Memon, holding the exams from the originally planned date of May 28 is not feasible. Consequently, the Inter Board has requested a four-day postponement for the exams. This request has been formally submitted to the Minister of Educational Boards for approval.

The decision to reschedule Karachi inter exams was influenced by logistical challenges and the ongoing heatwave.
