Karachi Rain

Persistent rainfall across parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has disrupted daily life, with flooding reported in Nowshera and cold weather intensifying in several districts.

In Nowshera, rain has continued since yesterday, with water entering homes overnight and inundating streets. Overflowing streams and drains have turned roads into pond-like conditions, raising safety concerns for residents.

In Peshawar, intermittent rainfall has brought a noticeable drop in temperature, with the mercury expected to reach 22°C. The Met Office has forecast further rain and possible hailstorms across most plain areas of the province, while light snowfall is anticipated in upper districts.

Meanwhile, heavy downpours continue in Lower Dir and surrounding areas, where rising water levels in streams and drains have heightened the risk of flooding. The rainfall has also led to an increase in cold intensity.

Authorities in Islamabad have issued a traffic advisory, warning motorists of slippery roads and potential slowdowns during rain. Drivers have been urged to use fog lights in low visibility, maintain reduced speeds, and adhere to lane discipline, while motorcyclists have been advised to ride cautiously in the left lane. Traffic police officials have been deployed on key roads to assist commuters.
