ISLAMABAD: The toll charges for the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2) have been raised by 10 per cent, and the updated rates came into effect on August 26.
This adjustment in toll prices follows an official announcement from the National Highways Authority (NHA), which refers to the implementation of a concession agreement with M/s Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering (Private) Limited.
“It is for the information of all the commuters that NHA has signed a Concession Agreement with M/s. Motorway Operations and Rehabilitation Engineering (Private) Limited (a Subsidiary owned by FWO) on April 23, 2014, for Overlay and modernisation of the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M-2) on a BOT basis for a period of Twenty (20) years and in accordance with that an escalation @10% in Toll Rates will be implemented from the 2nd Operational year.”
