Hiba Fawad says Fawad Chaudhry’s brothers stopped her press conference

ISLAMABAD: Hiba Fawad, the wife of former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry, has alleged that an attempt was made to get her arrested by police.

In a video message posted on the social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), Hiba Fawad stated, “I announced two days ago that my husband, Fawad Chaudhry, will contest elections from jail, and I will lead his election campaign, making a formal announcement through a press conference.”

She claimed that when she went to hold a press conference, Fawad Chaudhry’s brothers, Faraz Chaudhry, Faisal Chaudhry, Foaq Sher Baaz, and the head of their household, Chaudhry Shahbaz Hussain, locked the press club to prevent her press conference.

She alleged that “there was also an attempt to arrest me through the police.”

Earlier, speaking to Hum News, Hiba Fawad had stated that her husband would contest elections as an independent candidate, and she would seek votes for her husband.

“I am in direct communication with Fawad Chaudhry through a messaging app; the rest of the decision will be made by Fawad Chaudhry himself,” she concluded.

It is noteworthy that bail has been granted to Fawad Chaudhry in a corruption case, and his release order has been issued.
