WEB DESK: Apple’s latest iOS 18 Beta update introduces several new features aimed at enhancing user customisation and aesthetics on iPhone.
Among these updates, users can now hide app names directly from their Home Screen.
Previously limited to customising app colors and arranging apps freely, iOS 18 expands options by allowing users to remove app names altogether, creating a cleaner and more minimalist Home Screen.
This feature extends to widgets and folders, maintaining a uniform appearance across the interface.
iOS 18 builds upon its predecessor’s capabilities, which initially allowed app names to be hidden within the Dock starting from iOS 11. Now, users have the flexibility to achieve a cohesive, streamlined look across all areas of their device.
To hide app names on iPhone running iOS 18 Beta, follow these steps:
- Ensure you have installed the iOS 18 Beta on your iPhone.
- Long-press on any empty space on your Home Screen.
- Tap ‘Edit’ in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select ‘Customize’.
- Choose ‘Large’ for app icons.
- Tap on the screen to exit the Customize menu.
Currently, the feature does not support hiding app names while retaining the default small icon size.
This update underscores Apple’s commitment to providing users with greater control over their device’s appearance and functionality.
