ISLAMABAD: In a notable development aimed at providing relief to consumers with high electricity consumption, a decision has been taken to extend relief to those utilising 400 or more units per month, sources said.
The decision was reached during a special session chaired by interim Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar.
As per the decision, according to the sources, electricity consumers, who use 400 units or more, will be allowed to make payments in installments over the course of the next six months.
However, the approval for this relief measure will be sought from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the sources said.
Following the IMF’s response, an official announcement regarding the relief package will be announced, the sources said.
The decision highlights the government’s commitment to addressing the concerns of citizens and ensuring that essential services are more accessible and manageable for the public.
