Holi celebration in Quetta: Balochistan CM highlights province’s cultural diversity

QUETTA: The Chief Minister of Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti participated in a celebration marking the Hindu festival of Holi in Quetta on Sunday.

The event was held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. During the event, the CM said his government was committed to to promote interfaith harmony and inclusivity.

He pointed out the significance of Balochistan as a province known for its rich cultural heritage and traditions. Bugti stated that all minority communities residing in the province were valued members of society, and their rights and well-being were the government’s highest priority.

He acknowledged the contributions of the local Hindu community to the development and prosperity of Balochistan.

The CM stated that his government is committed to addressing the concerns and issues faced by minority groups on a priority basis.

Holi is a Hindu festival celebrated mainly in India and Nepal, along with small pockets of Indian diaspora worldwide. It marks the arrival of spring and the triumph of good over evil.

The festival of colours is famed for two days of festive atmosphere and the throwing of coloured powders and water on friends and family.

Holi typically falls in March based on the Hindu lunar calendar. It is also observed as a national holiday in Nepal and India.
