JAMSHORO: As Pakistan experiences a season marked by religious, cultural, and regional observances, the Jamshoro district administration has announced a local holiday on Friday, February 7, in connection with the annual Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.

Deputy Commissioner Gazanfar Ali Chaudhry issued an official notification confirming that all educational institutions across Jamshoro will remain closed on the day to facilitate devotees and ensure smooth arrangements during the celebrations.

The holiday announcement comes amid a series of observances across the country. February 5 is being marked nationwide as Kashmir Solidarity Day, while the Punjab government recently declared holidays for Basant festivities, adding to the celebratory atmosphere during the early weeks of the year.

The three-day Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar will commence in Sehwan Sharif, drawing millions of devotees from across Pakistan and abroad. Known as one of the largest religious gatherings in the country, the Urs features traditional dhamaal, prayers, and spiritual rituals at the revered shrine of the 13th-century Sufi saint.

Authorities have said that security, traffic management, and public facilitation measures are being put in place to accommodate the large influx of pilgrims expected during the celebrations.

With consecutive public holidays linked to national solidarity, cultural traditions, and religious devotion, February has emerged as a festive period across several parts of the country.
