Human dignity should be key component in law enforcement: Maryam Nawaz


LAHORE: The newly elected Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, convened her inaugural meeting on Monday to address law and order situation in the province.

Maryam Nawaz was briefed on the current situation of law and order in the province by senior officials.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif strongly condemned the incident of slapping an elderly woman in Taxila.

“If the law enforcers themselves break the law, then who will uphold the law?” Maryam Nawaz Sharif questioned.

While maintaining law and order is essential, it is equally crucial to protect the dignity of citizens and safeguard them from humiliation,” Maryam Nawaz Sharif emphasized.

“We will transform the police into a public service force through reforms, modern tools, technology, and training,” Maryam Nawaz Sharif stated.

Maryam Nawaz takes oath as Pakistan’s first female CM

Earlier today, Maryam Nawaz took oath as the country’s first provincial female head.

The swearing-in ceremony held at Punjab Governor House was attended by a diverse array of guests, numbering over 1,000, including diplomats, celebrities, political figures, journalists, and notable members of the Sharif family such as Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif.
