LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) opened its 8th playoff between Hyderabad Kingsmen and Multan Sultans in Lahore, where the HYK chose to bat first tonight.
The Marnus Labuschagne captained team HYK have been unfortunate in both the game that they lost earlier to the Lahore Qalandars in the PSL opener. They were bowled out for just 130 while chasing 199. In the second match vs Quetta, they again managed only 134-8 while trying to chase 174.
Cricket fans believe that the poor start of the Hyderabad Kingsmen under the leadership of Marnus Labuschagne comes down to a mix of weak batting, ineffective bowling, and overall inexperience as a new franchise.
Tonight, the HYK VS MS match, however, seems to be different this event. The team opened their innings by sending Saim Ayub and Maaz Sadaqat in the opening. Both players scored 27 off 19 and 30 off 10 balls each.
Their shining efforts at the crease may change their standings if the momentum goes in their favour, fans believe.
The team’s total was standing at 58 at the time the story was reported.
