Alan Ritchson has revealed new details about the moments leading up to his viral street fight, claiming he feared for his children before the confrontation escalated.
The actor was seen in widely circulated footage punching a neighbour during an altercation in Brentwood, Tennessee, but now says the incident unfolded after what he described as aggressive and repeated provocation.
According to Ritchson, he was riding bikes with his two sons when a man identified as Ronnie Taylor allegedly stepped directly in front of his motorcycle, forcing him to brake suddenly. He claimed the abrupt stop caused his bike to flip, leaving him injured.
Ritchson said the situation quickly escalated when the man approached him “as if to fight”, prompting him to push him away to create distance between them.

He also alleged the man appeared intoxicated, saying he could smell alcohol on his breath.
The actor admitted that in the heat of the moment he told the man he “should have run him over”, but said he was attempting to leave the scene before things turned physical.

However, he claims the man blocked his path again and shoved him off his bike, at which point he feared for both his own safety and that of his children.
“I completely now feared for both my and my kids’ safety,” he said, explaining that the punches seen in the footage were an attempt to defend himself and ensure they could leave.
The other man involved has disputed that version of events, telling police he approached Ritchson because he believed the actor was riding dangerously and that Ritchson became physical first.
Witness accounts appear to be mixed, with at least one supporting Ritchson’s claim that the confrontation was initiated by the neighbour.
After reviewing the incident, police said Ritchson had acted in self-defence and confirmed that no criminal charges would be filed.
