ICC confirms issuance of arrest warrant for Duterte ally

HAGUE: The International Criminal Court (ICC) has confirmed that it issued an arrest warrant for a close ally of former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, Senator Ronald dela Rosa, over alleged crimes against humanity linked to the country’s war on drugs.

According to the ICC, the warrant was issued confidentially and under seal by Pre-Trial Chamber I on November 6, 2025. The court said it is now in the process of unsealing the document and will share it publicly once available.

The ICC stated it is accusing dela Rosa of responsibility in overseeing Duterte’s anti-drug campaign, which has faced long-standing international scrutiny over alleged human rights abuses.
