ICC Player of the Month: Who will own August award

ICC Men's Player of Month

LONDON: The International cricketing body on Monday announced the three nominees for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award. Voting is now open!

Mohammad Siraj (India), Matt Henry (New Zealand) and Jayden Seales (West Indies) running for the ICC Men’s Player award, while Muneeba Ali (Pakistan), Orla Prendergast (Ireland) and Iris Zwilling (Netherlands) forming shortlist for the ICC Women’s Player award.

Siraj’s burst on the final day of the Test series against England helped India secure a dramatic win at The Oval. His outstanding performance has put him in strong contention, even as Henry’s clinical display in a two-Test series in Harare and Seales’ unforgettable showing in the home ODI series against Pakistan keep them firmly in the debate.

Women players were shortlisted based on their performances in T20I in Europe.

Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast is in the shortlist for claiming victory in the home T20I series over Pakistan and progressively performing well in subsequent T20Is.

Chris Gayle says he quit IPL early due to ‘disrespect’ at Punjab Kings

Muneeba Ali’s nomination is featuring her brilliant century off 68 balls that greatly contributed in the Pakistan’s third and final match victory of that series.

Netherlands’ Zwilling is there among the three after finishing with a bagful of wickets in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier.
