ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 schedule revealed


The ICC announced the schedule for the warm-up fixtures on Thursday, ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024 in June,

DUBAI: The International Cricket Council (ICC) officially released the schedule for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, starting in June.

Cricket fans worldwide have been eagerly waiting the start of world cup across the Caribbean and the United States (US) from June 2 to June 29. The tournament will feature 20 teams vying for the championship title.

The teams have been divided into four groups, each consisting of five teams. Cricket fans will be delighted with intense performances from each team as they will strives to progress to the knockout stages.

During the initial group stage, teams will compete in round-robin fixtures within their respective groups. The top two teams from each group will advance to the “Super Eight” stage.

During the Super Eight stage, the eight qualifying teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each. These teams will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals.

Matches will unfold in stadiums across the US and the Caribbean, including Central Broward Park in Lauderhill, Florida, Eisenhower Park in Nassau County, Long Island, New York, and Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas.

The tournament will start with a clash between the US and its northern neighbour Canada in the state of Texas on June 2.

This will be followed by West Indies facing off against Papua New Guinea in Providence later that day. Other notable matches include Namibia versus Oman in Bridgetown on June 3 and Sri Lanka taking on South Africa in New York on June 4.

As the group stage will progress, several famous rivalries and matchups await fans, including the highly awaited showdown between rivals India and Pakistan in New York on June 5.

The semifinals will take place on June 27, with four teams vying for a position in the final round. The finalists will then face off against each other for the title of champion on June 29.
