ICC releases new ODI rankings; Salman Ali Agha breaks into top 10

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has unveiled its latest ODI rankings, bringing notable changes across batting, bowling, and all-rounder categories, with several Pakistan and Bangladesh players making significant moves.

One of the standout developments is the rise of Salman Ali Agha, who has climbed nine places to break into the top 10 ODI batsmen for the first time, now sitting at 10th position. At the top, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell has successfully retained his number one ranking among ODI batsmen.

Pakistan’s Babar Azam continues to hold steady at sixth place, while Mohammad Rizwan has slipped two spots to 26th. Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman has dropped four places, now ranked 31st. In contrast, Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan made one of the biggest gains, jumping 31 places to 55th.

In the bowling rankings, Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan continues his dominance at the top, with England’s Jofra Archer holding on to second place. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz has climbed nine places to reach seventh, underlining his growing impact with the ball.

Pakistan’s emerging spinner Abrar Ahmed has slipped four spots to 13th, while pace duo Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf now occupy 17th and 19th positions respectively. Bangladesh also saw strong progress in their pace attack, with Taskin Ahmed moving up 12 places to 28th and Mustafizur Rahman climbing 13 spots to 47th.

In the all-rounders’ category, Afghanistan’s Azmatullah Omarzai has retained his position at the summit. Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan Miraz continues his upward trajectory, rising two places to second. Notably, Shaheen Afridi has made a remarkable leap of 45 places to reach 25th among ODI all-rounders, reflecting his increasing contributions with both bat and ball.

The latest ICC rankings highlight shifting dynamics in international cricket, with emerging players making their mark while established stars continue to hold their ground at the top.
