Rain had the final say in the group’s decisive fixture, as the scheduled match between Zimbabwe and Ireland in Pallekele was abandoned without a toss due to persistent showers. The washout saw both teams share a point, a result that ultimately sealed Zimbabwe’s progression.

According to the updated ICC standings, Zimbabwe finished second in Group B with five points from three matches, enough to book their place in the next round. Sri Lanka topped the group with six points after winning all three of their games.

Ireland concluded their campaign with three points from four matches, falling short of qualification. Meanwhile, Australia’s disappointing run leaves them with just two points from three games.
