T20 World Cup: Current points table

WEB DESK: Cricket fans are focused on the current points table as each hope their favourite team makes it to the next round (Super 8) of the on the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Before the England versus Oman match result, let’s examine each group’s current points standings.

Group A
India leads Group A with six points from three matches. The United States follows with four points, securing two wins out of three games. Pakistan and Canada each have two points.
Meanwhile, Ireland remains at the bottom with no points having lost all matches so far.
Group B
Australia tops Group B with six points from three wins. Scotland follows with five points, winning two out of three matches. Namibia holds two points, while England has one point. Oman is yet to score.
Group C
In Group C, the West Indies leads with six points, winning all three matches. Afghanistan has four points from two victories.
Meanwhile, Uganda and Papua New Guinea have two and zero points, respectively, while New Zealand is at the bottom of the table with zero points.
Group D
South Africa is currently dominating Group D with six points, winning all three games. Bangladesh follows with four points, securing two wins. Netherlands holds two points, while Nepal and Sri Lanka each have one point.
Pakistan chances in Super 8
Fans are still hoping to find the Green Shirts in the Super 8. However, given their recent performance, their fate remains doubtful. Many have predicted that with US in second place, Pakistan’s chances to qualify for Super 8 are nil.

However, some have predicted Pakistan can still qualify given other teams win or lose – basically, a coin toss’s chance/gamble.
If Ireland beats the United States on Friday (today), India beats Canada on Saturday, and Pakistan wins against Ireland on Sunday, Pakistan can qualify for the Super 8.
