ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has taken off from its cause list an application that had sought the court direction for the registration of FIRs against Gen (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa and Lt-Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed.
Earlier, the IHC had scheduled a hearing on the application that had sought the lodging of FIRs against the two former generals, accusing them breaking rules after retirement and giving inaccurate statements at various forums.
The IHC court had set the hearing on November 28. However, the court has now taken off the application from its cause list.
According to the information available on the IHC’s website, the hearing for the request has been canceled, and the application has been removed from the cause list.
Earlier on October 6, the IHC had issued notices to Qamar Javed Bajwa, Faiz Hamee, journalist Javed Chaudhry, journalist Shahid Mehmood Matla, PEMRA and the Press Association of Pakistan on the application.
The IHC had directed the respondents to submit responses three days before the scheduled hearing on November 28.
After the initial hearing, IHC Chief Justice Amir Farooq had issued notices to the parties involved.
