IIUI president revokes Aitekaf fee at Faisal Mosque

ISLAMABAD: The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUS) president has taken notice of the imposition of Rs5,000 as a registration fee for Aitekaf at Faisal Mosque.
According to a spokesperson, IIUI President Dr Hazal Hamood Al-Otaibi has ordered the Da’wah Academy to immediately withdraw the prescribed registration fee.
Spokesperson Nasir Farid stated that the IIUI president has not only ordered the abolition of the prescribed registration fee for Aitekaf but also directed the Da’wah Academy to ensure that any future matters related to Faisal Mosque that concern the public must be formally approved by the president.
The spokesperson said that the IIUI president has also instructed that every possible facility be provided to the worshippers at Faisal Mosque during the month of Ramazan and that ease be created for all matters related to Aitikaf. The president has also directed that the best arrangements for Aitikaf be ensured, the spokesperson said.
The general public strongly reacted to the levying of Rs5,000 registration fee for Aitekaf by the Da’wah Academy at Faisal Mosque.
