Not under any pressure: Babar Azam

KOLKATA: With a pivotal match on the horizon and Pakistan’s lukewarm performance in the tournament, Pakistan’s cricket captain, Babar Azam addressed media today in Kolkata.

Responding to questions related to his captaincy, he said, “I have been captaining for three years and I am not under any pressure”.

He added that decisions regarding the captaincy rest with the management, and he will take the appropriate steps after returning to Pakistan.

Highlighting the importance of the upcoming fixture, he said, “Tomorrow’s match is significant for us,” and reiterated that the match would be played according to a strategic plan, expressing confidence in the team’s preparedness.

Reflecting on team performance, the skipper acknowledged shortcomings in batting, bowling, and fielding, asserting, “We start well but can’t finish well.” Responding to criticism, he noted, “It is easy to give advice on TV. If you want to give advice, send a message.”
