Imad Wasim’s wife breaks silence after divorce announcement

ISLAMABAD: After former Pakistan cricketer Imad Wasim confirmed his divorce from his wife Sania Ashfaq, she shared some startling details about the split.

In a statement on Instagram, Sania Ashfaq said that her home had been broken, her children had been deprived of their father, and that their five-month-old baby had not yet been held by his father.

According to Sania, there were difficulties during the marriage but the relationship continued as she tried her best to fulfil her responsibilities as a wife and mother.

She said that matters deteriorated when a ‘third person’ entered their married life and expressed a desire to marry Imad Wasim.

She said that for the sake of the children’s future and the dignity of the household, she endured mental distress and harsh behaviour.

She further said that those advising her to remain silent should know that justice will be done, and that she possesses documentary evidence regarding the matter.

Sania Ashfaq said threats aimed at stopping her from making documents public would be dealt with legally.

She said that she is speaking the truth not out of revenge but in support of herself and her children, and wants to be the voice of every woman who is forced into silence.

Earlier, Imad Wasim acknowledged prolonged marital differences and announced that he had filed for divorce.

He said that after long reflection and unresolved disputes over recent years, he had decided to file a divorce case.

Imad Wasim and Sania Ashfaq married in 2019 and the couple have three children.
